The suburb of Noordhoek (meaning “north corner” of the old farm Slangkop stretching all the way from Kommetjie to Noordhoek) is a vibrant rural and artistic community village just 30 minutes south of Cape Town.

Truly a wonderful starting point, Noordhoek is close to everything that the Cape has to offer, room to breathe but with plenty to keep the traveller occupied.

  • Boulders Beach Penguin colony settled in historic Simon’s Town, and never stops to amuse and entertain one. Their comical ‘waddling’ along the beach entertains everybody and their grace in the water is surprising and we watch in awe.
  • Cape of Good Hope & Cape Point is the most southern point of the Cape Peninsula and lies in the middle of a nature reserve. Driving through our floral kingdom of fynbos & proteas, unique to our area, with dramatic cliffs as well as the secretive wildlife of Dassies (rock hyrax), large colonies of Cormorants, Ostrich, Zebra, Eland, and other smaller antelopes etc
  • Cape Point Ostrich Farm offers a guided tour of the farm by a well trained team who will show you around and give you detailed information about the life cycle of an ostrich from egg to the adult bird.
  • Coastal villages such as antique hunting at Kalkbay, family beach at Fish Hoek, surfers paradise Kommetjie and fishing hub Houtbay are well worth a visit.
  • Constantia wine route
  • Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens offers fantastic pathways full of indigenous fauna & flora and in summer you might enjoy an open air concerts on Sunday afternoon.
  • Cape Town: within 30 minutes you are in the city centre. Discover the secrets of the “Mother City” on an ‘open top’ Double Decker buses, slender through markets, experience the Waterfront and lots more
  • Table Mountain lower cable station is ~30km from Noordhoek, your staring point to explore the top and enjoy the awesome views from Cape Town all the way to the Peninsula
  • Waterfront & Robben Island: ‘Shop until you drop’ at the Waterfront in the many stores, restaurants, market, aquarium and be entertained by the many buskers. An excursion to the famous island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years leaves a big impression and is a memorable outing.
